Tube Strikes – How did London cope in the past?

The last six months in London have seen commuter’s miserable after industrial action on the underground.  It is now feared that more tube strikes will occur on April 29th – coinciding with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding.

This  isn’t the first time that there have been tube strikes, however. This Pathé video below shows a tube strike in 1962, and as Niall McDonald reports, Londoners used ingenious ways of travel that would never be seen nowadays.
